• Why replace the old text-only chat?
   

The old text-only chat, RealChat, was a dead software product that had no bug fixes or enahancements for the past 5 years. Essentially, the publisher abandoned the product. Cam capability was the most-requested feature, so we chose this chat application because it supports almost all of the previous text-chat features, it performs better, and supports video and audio.

• Do I need a cam to use CamChat?
   

  No. Text chat works exactly same in the new CamChat as it did in the old text-only application.

  
   
• Can my cam be recorded?
   

  Not by us. Neither the cam chat application nor the audio/video server give us a way to record cams. However, anyone who is viewing your cam can use third-party software available on the Internet to record your cam.

  
   
• Why can't I move private chat windows around my screen?
   

  This is a limitation of Flash, the technology behind the CamChat application. You can, however, enlarge the chat window by dragging the edges of the window, to give you more room on the page for private chats.

  
   
• Why are Basic members limited in their use of video?
   

  Because video uses tremendous bandwidth, for which we have to pay. Basic members can view 1 cam at a time, Premium members 4.
